This 1969 Lincoln Continental Mark III was delivered new to Sachs & Sons Lincoln-Mercury of Downey, California, and is said to have been owned by one family in California before being purchased by the selling dealer in January 2021 from the late owner’s estate. Powered by a 460ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in Light Green with an Ivy Gold vinyl roof over Dark Ivy Gold leather and vinyl upholstery. Other equipment includes woodgrain interior accents, power steering, power brakes, vacuum-activated concealed headlights, power windows, power locks, a power-operated split front bench seat, automatic climate control, variable-speed windshield wipers, and a Cartier analog clock. The selling dealer reportedly has replaced the tires, radiator, coolant-temperature sensor, rear wheel cylinders, brake master cylinder, and power-steering pressure hose. This Mark III is offered at no reserve with a Deluxe Marti report and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Light Green (H) with an Ivy Gold vinyl roof covering. The pillarless hardtop coupe features vacuum-activated concealed quad headlights, an upright chrome grille, and a stylized spare-tire shape with Continental lettering on the trunk lid. Damage is noted to the chrome strip above the passenger-side rear wheel, there are dings in the passenger door, and other imperfections are pictured in the gallery below.
Steel 15″ wheels are fitted with turbine-style covers and mounted with 225/75 Vercelli Classic 787 whitewall tires said to have been installed in 2021. A full-size spare is situated in the trunk. The car has a dual-hydraulic power brake system, and the rear wheel cylinders and the brake master cylinder were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The leather seats and vinyl door panels are upholstered in diamond-patterned Dark Ivy Gold (2GA) with dark green carpeting along with simulated oak woodgrain trim on the dash, doors, and steering wheel. Equipment includes power windows, a power-operated split front bench seat, automatic climate control, variable-speed hydraulic windshield wipers, overhead-console-mounted warning lights, a front map light and rear reading lights, a driver-side remote mirror, a glove-compartment vanity mirror, and an AM/FM stereo. This car also has the optional speed-control switch mounted under the dash. The tilt function on the passenger side of the power seat is noted to be inoperable.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, amperage, fuel level, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 31k miles, approximately 100 of which were added by the selling dealer.
The 460ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 365 horsepower. Service in 2021 is said to have included replacing the radiator and flushing the cooling system, replacing the coolant-temperature sensor and power-steering pressure hose, changing the oil and filter, and recharging the air-conditioning system with R12 refrigerant.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a C-6 three-speed automatic transmission, and the axle code indicates that this car came with a 3.00:1 high-torque axle ratio. Additional photos showing the suspension, the chassis, the exhaust system, and corrosion on some underbody components are presented in the gallery.
