This 1965 Shelby 427 S/C Cobra Continuation is chassis number CSX4787 with 845 miles from new. It is titled as a 1965 Shelby Cobra and finished in Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White LeMans stripes. Continuation Cobras with chassis numbers CSX4001-4999 were built over roughly 20 years, with CSX4999 ending the run in 2009. This fiberglass-bodied example has been with the seller 6 years, and reportedly remains in its 2003 as-built condition. The body, frame and suspension were delivered by Shelby Automobiles, Inc., and the engine built by Blue Oval Performance. The 427ci V-8 is a date-correct NOS side-oiler, built to 600hp with dyno tests confirming 480hp at the wheels. The engine is mated to a Ford Toploader 4-speed  manual. Build highlights include a Shelby 3.54:1 diff, Baer racing brakes, Trigo 15″ wheels with stainless knock-offs, and black leather S/C Package interior. Services just completed by Tom’s Motorsports of Las Vegas totaled $5,300, and included re-sealing of axles and gearbox, new high torque starter, new fuel cell/certification, and complete tuning to tolerances as new. The car is sold with build spec sheet, copy of Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO), photos from Shelby/Blue Oval, original invoices, and detailed engine Blueprint and dyno test data. It is sold with a clean Montana title.

Shelby Automobiles offered CSX4000 cars in 8 standard exterior colors, with many finished in Guardsman Blue and Wimbledon White stripes, emulating the European FIA competition Cobras. Paint remains shiny over the whole car reflecting light use. The seller reports no chips, scratches, polishing swirls or notable blemishes.

Body panels all appear straight, with no obvious fit issues to trim, lighting, windscreen, roll hop or side pipes. All lighting is said to be working correctly.

Contoured buckets show minimal wear, and Stroud 5-point safety harnesses with latch-and-link buckles are fit to each side. The interior features a black leather S/C package, full carpet, Cobra logo floor mats, and door-mount map pockets. All surfaces are clean and in good condition reflecting the limited mileage.

The flat dash in black leather is home to a full cluster of Shelby-branded S/C-type instruments that are all reported to work, including the fuel gauge which was an optional item. The 15″ wood-rimmed dished wheel is shown without its Cobra-logo horn push, but both a Shelby-autographed and standard version are included.

The Cobra has covered just 845 miles from new and 38 since the above photograph was taken.

The Trigo aluminum Pin-drive 15″ wheels have stainless steel winged knock-offs with safety wires correctly fitted. Wheel finish is clean with no chips, abrasions or rash noted. Goodyear Eagle GTII tires are mounted all around, and like the car have covered less than 1k miles.

This Continuation Cobra carries VIN and Chassis No. CSX4787, and is titled in Montana as a 1965 Shelby Cobra. The seller notes the car has never been registered, titled or DMV documented as anything else.

The 2003 engine build by Blue Oval Performance began with an NOS date-correct 427ci V-8 side-oiler. Full Blueprint specs are included in the sale showing the engine built to 600hp and 575lbft of torque, with dyno tests confirming 480whp at 6,000rpm and 460lbft.
