1963 Buick Wildcat Convertible

This 1963 Buick Wildcat convertible is finished in Arctic White over red vinyl and powered by a 401ci Nailhead V8 paired with a Dynaflow automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated black soft top, 15″ steel wheels, power steering and brakes, a tachometer, bucket seats, and a Sonomatic AM radio. The car was acquired by the selling dealer in May 2022, and work completed under current ownership consisted of replacing the tires along with the convertible top motor and pump. This Wildcat convertible is offered with manufacturer’s literature, service records from prior ownership, an additional set of hubcaps, and a clean Wisconsin title.

The body was reportedly repainted in its factory shade of Arctic White under prior ownership in October 2008. Exterior features include a power-operated black soft top with a red boot cover, quad headlights, Wildcat badging, faux fender vents, and chrome trim on the grille, windshield surround, driver-side mirror, side moldings, and bumpers. The selling dealer states that the convertible top motor and pump were replaced in August 2022. There is evidence of corrosion on the hood, images of which are provided in the gallery.

The 15″ steel wheels wear full covers with faux knockoff spinners along with Cooper Cobra Radial GT white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted four-wheel drums. The tires were installed in June 2022, according to the selling dealer.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in red vinyl joined by a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a heater, center console, vent windows, door panel armrests, rubber floor mats, and a Sonomatic AM radio.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. A 6k-rpm Buick tachometer is mounted in the center console forward of the gear selector. The five-digit odometer shows under 36k miles, approximately 4000 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 401ci Nailhead V8 was reportedly rebuilt in 2008 and was factory rated at 325 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. The selling dealer states the battery was replaced and the fluids were changed in June 2022.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Dynaflow automatic transmission.
