MODEL HISTORY

The Jaguar E-Type is possibly the most recognisable and iconic car ever created. Upon seeing it, Enzo Ferrari described the E-Type as: “The most beautiful car ever made”, which considering the pride and ego of Signor Ferrari, is quite the compliment, but when one considers the cars that Ferrari were producing at the time, it must be the biggest compliment in automotive history!

The iconic Jaguar E-Type was produced by Jaguar Cars from May 1961 to June 1974 with the first generation of 3.8 ‘Flat Floor’ cars made until June 1962. These early 3.8 litre cars are considered one of the rarer of the E-Type models and came with a straight 6-cylinder twin overhead cam engine producing around 265 BHP driving rear wheels through a 4-speed manual Moss Gearbox, and offering a claimed top speed of 150 mph. The interior was very distinctive with the pressed silver alloy trim and twin bucket seats.
