This 1937 Buick Series 80 Roadmaster is one of 1,040 phaetons produced for the model year. It was refurbished under previous ownership and was subsequently used in several Hollywood Christmas Parades between 1991 and 2010 before it was purchased by the seller in 2016. The car is finished in white over tan upholstery, and power comes from a 320ci straight-eight paired with a three-speed manual transmission. Features include red-painted 16″ steel wheels, dual side-mount spares, running boards, rear fender skirts, a tan soft top, and an AM radio. This Series 80 Roadmaster is now offered with factory literature, refurbishment photos, Hollywood Christmas Parade photos and memorabilia, a car cover, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The Fisher-built body is said to have received replacement floor boards and running boards during the refurbishment before it was repainted in its current white. Equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, a hood ornament, running boards, dual side-view mirrors, a tan soft top, dual taillights, and a central brake light. The rear fender skirts are said to have been repainted in 2023. The seller notes paint cracks around the hood.
The red-painted steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and trim rings, and they are mounted with 6.50–16 Firestone bias-ply whitewall tires. Dual spare wheels are mounted inside body-color covers in the front fenders. The Series 80 rode on a 131″ wheelbase and features an independent coil-sprung front suspension as well as a live rear axle with leaf springs. Stopping power is provided by hydraulic drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats trimmed in tan upholstery with color-matched door panels and carpets. Equipment includes manual crank windows an AM radio, and a locking glovebox.
The three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. An aftermarket coolant temperature gauge is mounted to the left of the steering column. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles, approximately 275 of which were added under the seller’s ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 320ci straight-eight features five main bearings and a Stromberg carburetor, and it was factory rated at 130 horsepower. The car was last serviced in September 2023, and a replacement battery was installed at that time. It is titled by its engine number, 83241132, which can be seen in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed manual transmission.
A collection of photos taken of the car at various Hollywood Christmas Parades is included in the sale.
