This 1934 Nash Ambassador Eight is said to have received a multi-year refurbishment around a decade ago and was acquired by the current owner approximately five years ago. The car is finished in red over beige fabric upholstery, and power is supplied by a 322ci inline-eight linked with a three-speed manual transmission. Additional features include rear wheel spats, rear-hinged rear doors, yellow driving lamps, and spares mounted on both front fenders. This Ambassador Eight is being offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with manufacturer’s literature and a clean Wisconsin title in the name of the owner’s LLC.
The Ambassador Eight marked the introduction of Nash’s use of “Speedstream” aerodynamic styling, and this example features sedan coachwork by W.S. Seaman Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was repainted its current shade of red during the aforementioned refurbishment, and exterior features include a built-in luggage trunk, rear wheel spats, yellow front driving lamps, dual front horns, and rear-hinged rear doors.
Black-painted 17” wire wheels feature chrome Nash-branded hubcaps and are mounted with whitewall tires. The suspension is said to have been overhauled during prior ownership, and the car features body-color spare wheel covers on both front fenders, which are topped by side-view mirrors with ornamental stands.
The cabin features bench seats trimmed in beige fabric with matching door panels and carpets protected by black rubber floor mats. Amenities include a locking glovebox, opening vent windows, and a footrest for rear-seat passengers.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a painted woodgrain dashboard housing a 100-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 37k miles, around 100 of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 322ci inline-eight features a single carburetor and was factory-rated at 125 horsepower. The seller notes that the engine was rebuilt during the refurbishment.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed manual transmission. Additional underbody photos are provided in the gallery below.
The car is titled using engine number 405652 shown above.
