THE STORY

This 1930 Cord L-29 Rumble Seat Cabriolet was built in December 1929 and sold new in Los Angeles in March 1930. Serial No. 2926853, it retains the original factory Cabriolet body (No. F-499) and chassis (No. 1853), and has received highly coveted Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Club Certification as an authentic prewar model boasting an original chassis, bodywork and major mechanical components, including the engine. A CCCA Full Classic accompanied by known ownership history, this fabulous example is fulsomely equipped with Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whitewall tires on painted steel wheels decorated with chromed trim rings and caps, very rare Woodlite headlamps and matching cowl lamps, a golf-club compartment containing a set of vintage clubs, dual side-mount spares with hard covers and outside mirrors, and a rear-mounted luggage rack with a matching painted trunk. It was treated to a nut-and-bolt restoration in the late 1990s by one of the best restorers in America, Lon Krueger of Scottsdale, Arizona. Exquisitely finished in dramatic two-tone Lilac lacquer and fitted with a gray top and matching leather interior, this multiple prize-winning Cord L-29 meets the most stringent standards of excellence in a genuine American classic automobile with superb presentation and performance.
