This 1928 LaSalle Series 303 is one of approximately 270 dual-cowl Sport Phaetons bodied by Fisher between 1927 and 1928 and is powered by a 303ci V8 linked with a three-speed manual transmission. The car is finished in two-tone blue with a tan convertible top and black fenders and running boards. It was reportedly refurbished by a prior owner approximately 30 years ago, and the selling dealer recently acquired it from the son of the previous owner of 20 years. In preparation for sale, the selling dealer rebuilt the carburetor, serviced the fuel system, and cleaned the spark plugs. This LaSalle is now offered in Texas with a clean Michigan title.
The car wears an older repaint in two-tone blue lacquer with black fenders and running boards. The selling dealer notes checking in some areas of the finish, and close-up photos show the condition of the chrome trim and lighting, including the spotlight affixed to the passenger-side running board. The car is equipped with a tan convertible top with wooden hardware as well as a rear-mounted trunk.
Cream-colored wire-spoke wheels are mounted with whitewall tires, including the matching twin spares that are affixed with leather straps. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums, and the car features a solid front and live rear axle suspended on leaf springs.
The twin passenger compartments are upholstered in blue leather, with the rear compartment protected by a forward-hinged separate cowl with its own folding windscreen. Spark advance is controlled by levers on the steering wheel.
Instrumentation is housed in a machined gauge fascia and includes a band-style speedometer, an analog clock, and a quartet of auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 1,200 miles, a handful of which were added by the selling dealer.
LaSalle models shared their 90° 303ci V8 with contemporary Cadillacs. The selling dealer notes that the car is equipped with an electronic fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator rather than the factory mechanical unit. In preparation for sale, the selling dealer rebuilt the carburetor, serviced the fuel system, and cleaned the spark plugs.
